Dunwoody-based My Friend’s Place has a New Owner, a Fresh New Look and a Newly Expanded Deli Menu
(September 10, 2002, Atlanta, Georgia) Atlanta based My Friend’s Place is pleased to announce exciting changes at the Dunwoody Village location.
On September 1, 2002, My Friend's Place Corporate purchased the store from Susan Finley (now Susan Tanner) who had opened and operated the store from February, 1995 until August 31, 2002. My Friend's Place Corporate closed it down immediately for one week for a complete renovation. All the equipment was checked, cleaned, repaired and/or replaced, many light bulbs and ballasts were replaced, the walls were painted, all new flooring was installed, bright red vinyl signage was applied to the front window, and the HVAC system inspected. The store, when it reopened on Monday, September 9, 2002, appeared to be a brand new store again. Customers immediately noticed the brightness and cheerfulness of the physical appearance, and they were also excited to see that two of Susan’s employees, Susan Rothschild and Robyn Shier, were both still there. In addition, the newly expanded deli meat menu was also introduced which created even more excitement for the customers.
My Friend’s Place is a local chain of 21 sandwich shops offering top quality sandwiches, salads, soups and desserts, all made fresh on premises from the best ingredients to exacting standards. Some of the chain’s specialties include Chunky Chicken Salad stuffed in freshly baked pita bread, the favorite Tuna Mushroom Melt, the popular Pita Veggie as well as a newly expanded traditional deli type sandwiches. Some of the new items include Corned Beef and Pastrami Reubens and NY style sandwiches such as the "Super Club", a combination of Turkey, Ham, Roast Beef, Swiss and American cheeses, lettuce, tomatoes and mayonnaise served on your choice of bread. There are Hot Deli sandwiches grilled on French Bread such as a Pastrami and Swiss and a Roast Beef, Ham and Cheddar. The desserts are divine including carrot cake and fudgy brownies, homemade in their own bakery, and freshly baked chocolate chip cookies has become a signature item for the chain.
