Dave and Roz started a sandwich shop in Sandy Springs by relying on their friends' generosity in contributing to the creating, building and naming of their store, My Friend's Place which opened its doors in 1980.
In 1983, Perimeter Mall invited local Atlanta restaurants who were successful and unique, to become part of the Mall's new food court. Perimeter Mall is surrounded by many Class A office complexes with employees who had already become customers at their nearby Sandy Springs store.
"The decision to open in Perimeter Mall, just about one mile from our first store, was a huge decision for our business" says owner Dave Katz, "yet we knew that many customers who worked near the Mall would go there for lunch rather than come to Sandy Springs, and it was a chance for us to grow and expand our business."
The menu includes choices for customers who participate in active and healthy lifestyles. The freshly prepared tuna, chicken and egg salads, as well as the roast beef, turkey, and grilled chicken caesar salad are perfect for the lo carb customers. The heart healthy customer can choose items such as the turkey broccoli melt and a variety of salads along with grilled chicken if desired. Other choices include reubens, made with our homemade specialty dressing, wraps, clubs and of course a variety of sandwiches as well as homemade desserts.
My Friend's Place strongly believes that eating sensibly (in moderation), exercising regularly and choosing a variety of foods will maintain your active and healthy lifestyle without the need for "diets".
There are over 20 Georgia locations in metro Atlanta including Newnan, Gainesville and as far east as Augusta.
